For tailors

Each city ranking lists ten tailors. We build a long list from each tailor’s history, published reviews, client accounts and our own records, and our critics then visit as ordinary clients: they commission clothes, attend every fitting and wear the finished work before a score is given.

There is no application form. You are welcome to tell us about your tailoring business, and we read every message, but whether and when we review a tailor is our decision. How we rate tailors explains the four tests.

If you are listed on TailorGuide, please tell us when something changes so that clients can find you:

• your address or a new shop
• opening hours and appointment arrangements
• your booking page, phone number, email or WhatsApp
• your starting prices and turnaround times
• your website and social accounts

Email contact@tailorguide.net with the name of your business and the page you are on. We check every update before it goes live.

We show real photographs of every tailor we list, never illustrations. If you have good photographs of your shop and your work, send them to us with permission to publish them on TailorGuide. The most useful are:

• the shopfront or entrance
• the shop interior
• the cutting table or workroom
• a fitting in progress
• a finished jacket, in detail

Landscape photographs at least 1,600 pixels wide work best. Please tell us who took them so we can credit the photographer if needed.

Each year we name the Tailor of the Year in every city we rank, chosen from that city’s ranking. Tailors do not enter. Winners receive the TailorGuide Awards certificate for that year and may use the awards name and logo for the year and city in which they won. See the awards page.

You are welcome to link to your TailorGuide page and to quote your place in a ranking, with credit to TailorGuide and a link to the page. Please do not copy our reviews in full or suggest that TailorGuide endorses your business in ways it has not. Our terms of use explain the details.
