House of Parmar
The Gate, DIFC · Since 1956
House of Parmar is the family firm Khaleej Times calls Dubai's oldest bespoke suit maker, and its DIFC atelier, trading simply as Bespoke, is where it makes suits from an individual pattern. Pitamber Parmar sailed from Bombay in June 1956, aged 23, and opened a tailor's shop in Bur Dubai; his youngest son, Prakash, joined in 1986 and now runs the group as chief executive. The made-to-measure business, Parmar Tailors, trades on Al Fahidi Street and in JLT. Bespoke, opened at The Gate in 2006, takes each client through a basted fitting in trial fabric, a forward fitting and a final fitting, in about four weeks. It suits residents who want a Savile Row-style process at Dubai speed, from a firm with seven decades in the city.
