1.Who we are
TailorGuide publishes rankings of the best tailors, guides, news and the annual TailorGuide Awards at tailorguide.net. In this policy, “TailorGuide”, “we” and “us” mean the company that runs this website, which is responsible for the personal information described here.
If you have any question about this policy or about your information, email contact@tailorguide.net or message us on WhatsApp +66 63 451 4058.
2.What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the site and to stay in touch with readers who ask us to.
- When you become a member. Your email address, the date you signed up, the part of the site you signed up from and, if you chose one, a city.
- When you contact us. Your name, your email address or phone number, and what you write to us, whether by email or WhatsApp.
- When you visit the site. Like any website, the servers that host TailorGuide record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request.
- On your device. The site stores one small note in your browser to remember that you closed the announcement bar at the top of the page. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
We do not ask for, and do not want, payment details, identity documents or measurements through this website.
3.How we use it
- To send members our emails: new rankings, the TailorGuide Awards and tailoring news.
- To reply to your messages, corrections and questions.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
4.Our legal reasons for using your information
Where data protection law such as the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent for member emails. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interests for replying to messages and for keeping the site secure and working.
- Legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or share information.
5.Services we use
Some of the information above is handled by companies that provide services to us. They may use it only to provide those services.
- Hosting and database. The site and our member list are hosted by our website and database providers.
- Google Maps. The maps on our ranking and tailor pages load from Google. When a map loads, Google receives information such as your IP address under its own privacy policy.
- Google Fonts. Some typefaces load from Google, which receives your IP address when they do.
- WhatsApp. If you message us on WhatsApp, your message is handled by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy.
Our pages link to tailors’ own websites, booking pages and social accounts. Those sites are run by others and have their own privacy policies; this policy does not cover them.
6.How long we keep it
- Member emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Messages: for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and normally no longer than two years.
- Technical server records: for a short period, usually a few weeks, unless needed to investigate a security problem.
7.Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
- withdraw your consent to member emails at any time;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To unsubscribe, use the link at the bottom of any member email, or email contact@tailorguide.net. For any other request, email us and we will reply within one month.
8.International transfers
TailorGuide works across several countries, and our service providers may store or process information outside the country where you live. Where the law requires it, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
9.Security
We protect the information we hold with access controls and encrypted connections, and we limit access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will act promptly if a problem arises.
10.Children
TailorGuide is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we will delete their details.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed. If we make an important change, we will say so on the site or in a member email. You can also read our terms of use and our disclosure.
