The New York menswear designer Todd Snyder has opened a store at 1165 Madison Avenue, at 85th Street on the Upper East Side, with a dedicated tailoring shop and an in-house made-to-measure service. The 2,700-square-foot store opened in summer 2024, according to the company, and was announced in MR Magazine on 26 September 2024.
The store carries an expanded range of suits and sport coats, along with ties and pocket squares. Customers can order made-to-measure clothing in the store, have alterations done by an in-house tailor, book private shopping appointments and use a same-day courier service.
“Our goal is to build the ultimate and unparalleled menswear destination in New York City,”

Built for the uptown customer
Alejandro Rhett, the company's chief product officer, told MR Magazine that the store is aimed at the uptown professional, whom he described as a more mature man who values sophistication. Snyder said the company had deliberately built a strong client base in New York City.
The company describes the interior as designed to feel like a Parisian apartment, with a custom marble fireplace and a 20-foot mural of the French countryside. Alongside the full Todd Snyder collection, the store sells a rotating selection of vintage luxury watches and jewelry through a partnership with Foundwell, and houses a shop-in-shop for the eyewear brand Moscot. The store listing also includes an Aesop shop.
Todd Snyder's other New York stores include locations in NoMad, at Rockefeller Center and in TriBeCa. On this stretch of Madison Avenue, its neighbors include Brooks Brothers, James Perse, Nili Lotan and Faherty, according to the store's listing.

What it means for suit buyers
For Upper East Side customers, the store adds a made-to-measure option uptown, backed by an in-house tailor for alterations. In made-to-measure, a house pattern is adjusted to the customer's measurements and fitting preferences before the suit is cut, which usually costs less and takes less time than bespoke but allows less change to the basic shape. Buyers should ask which fabrics and model changes are available before ordering.
