Turnaround
About three months for bespoke; about eight weeks for Su Misura (2017)
Fittings
Two fittings after the measuring appointment, with final adjustments at delivery

Zegna offers two services in Milan, and the difference matters. Su Misura, the made-to-measure program the company introduced in 1972, is ordered in the Via Montenapoleone store, and Robb Report gave the wait as about eight weeks in 2017. Bespoke, offered since March 2017 in a 107-square-meter apartment above the store, follows a tailor's sequence: a first appointment for measurements, two fittings, the second with the jacket still without collar or sleeves, and delivery about three months after the first visit.

The bespoke side is real handwork done in Milan. Robb Report counted about 200 steps, 150 pieces and at least 75 hours in a suit, and Alessandro Sartori, Zegna's artistic director, told Milano Finanza in 2024 that the bespoke work is done entirely in the city, by a master tailor who cuts and six tailors at Via Bigli, with a second workshop on Via Tortona being built up toward 40 tailors. Parisian Gentleman reported in 2018 that the atelier was run by the tailor Mario Pecora and his son, Angelo.

The fabric is the strongest argument. Clients choose from about 900 suitings, jacketings and coatings and more than 230 shirtings, most woven at the company's mill in Trivero, and Parisian Gentleman reported that a client can have a length woven for him alone. No independent tailor on this list can match that range.

The case against is price and personality. The $13,500 starting price reported in 2017 is about twice the $6,400 Permanent Style gave for Musella Dembech in 2019, and no published review describes the Zegna bespoke cut or the finished work. Choose it for a full wardrobe from one maker in exceptional fabrics; ask who will cut and fit the suit, and confirm the current price, which Zegna does not publish.
