Prata & Mastrale is the most unconventional tailor among our candidates. MF Milano Finanza described it in 2024 as more a style club than a tailor's shop: clients are received in a salon with a bar, armchairs and photographs on the walls rather than in a workshop. Its founder, Aldo Invitti di Conca, is the patron and arbiter of taste, not the cutter. He has written a book on dress, L'arte dell'eleganza, published by Hoepli, and hosts a podcast on style.

The making is done in Milan. The Rake counted five tailors, including one cutter, at Via Fatebenefratelli 17 in 2020, among them a tailor named Cristiano who had sewn Invitti's clothes since he was 18; Forbes Italia identified the master tailor as Cristiano Zerboni. The shoulder is moderate and has no pad, a nod to Invitti's Neapolitan roots. The standard front has a horizontal seam at the pocket, which The Rake's writer thought close to ready-to-wear, but the cutter can also make a clean front without it. Fabrics come from Biella and from Huddersfield in England.

There is less independent evidence here than for its neighbor A. Caraceni or for Musella Dembech. Prices are not published, no reviewer has written up a finished suit, and the firm presents its work as made to measure rather than bespoke. It also offers My Perfect Wardrobe, a care service for clients' clothes, and has taken trunk shows to New York.

Choose it for a softer, Neapolitan-leaning suit made in Milan and a convivial setting. Ask who will cut your pattern and how many fittings to expect. For the classic, structured Milanese line, A. Caraceni remains the reference.
