Galaxy Tailor works from Sukhumvit Soi 18, a short walk from BTS Asok. The family business was founded in 1999 and is still led by its founders, David and Jay, and it counts executives, diplomats and travelers from around the world among its clients.

David and Jay began the business as a small family workshop on Phetchaburi Road in 1999. As it grew, it moved to a larger home on Sukhumvit Soi 18, where its cutting and sewing are still done on site rather than sent out to another workshop. Senior master tailor Mr. Top, who has more than 30 years of experience, works alongside them.

Its range covers bespoke suits, shirts, trousers, blazers and tuxedos, including wedding suits for grooms and their parties, and women can have suits, blazers, trousers, skirts and dresses made to order. Its tailors work across many styles, from classic British and American cuts to soft Italian and modern slim, and clients can choose fused, half-canvas or full-canvas construction to suit their budget. The fabric selection runs from the business's own everyday fabrics to premium Italian and English fabrics, and every detail can be customized.

Clients start with a consultation and measurements, from which a pattern is made for them, and the fabric is then cut by hand. Most suits take two to four days with one or two fittings, and a 48-hour express service is available for those short on time.

Expect to pay from about $235 for a two-piece suit in the business's own fabric, rising for premium fabrics and full-canvas construction. Finished garments can be delivered free to the client's hotel in Bangkok, and orders can be shipped worldwide, with reorders taking 7 to 10 days by courier.
