Tailored By Luis is a family-run bespoke tailor in Banglamphu, Bangkok's old town, a short walk from Khao San Road. Opened in 2001 and now in its third generation under the Khanal family, it has built a loyal following among international travelers, executives and wedding parties from around the world.

Tailoring runs through the Khanal family. Master tailor Lokanath Khanal, who has more than 40 years in the trade, heads the workshop, while the family's third generation runs the business day to day. It opened in 2001 at Erawan House on Phra Athit Road, near the Chao Phraya River, and in 2018 it added a second branch on Samsen Road, also in Banglamphu.

The workshop makes suits, shirts and tuxedos as well as overcoats and leather jackets, and women can have suits and dresses made to order. Its tailors work across many styles, from a relaxed, unpadded Italian drape to a structured British cut or a modern tapered fit. Fabrics come in several price levels, from everyday wools to luxury fabrics from leading Italian and English mills, and every detail, from the lapels to the lining, can be customized.

The process starts with a consultation on fabric and style, followed by more than 30 body measurements and posture photos, from which a paper pattern is drafted by hand for the client. Jackets are offered in full or half canvas and are finished by hand in the workshop. Clients usually have two or three fittings, and most orders take about three days, with a 24- to 48-hour express service for those short on time. Patterns are kept on file, so reorders can be made later.

Two-piece suits start from about $160, with prices rising through several fabric levels to about $1,120. The team offers free pickup from hotels and airports in Bangkok for consultations and fittings, and its long opening hours, from 8:30am until late in the evening, suit visitors with full days of sightseeing. Reorders can be shipped abroad. For travelers who want a well-made suit quickly and at an accessible price, it offers very good value.
