Unique Tailor

Unique Tailor is a family-owned bespoke tailor on Sukhumvit Road, between Soi 20 and 22, a short walk from BTS Phrom Phong and BTS Asok. Since opening in 2002, it has built a loyal clientele of local and international clients, and it is known for suits cut by hand and shirts finished by hand.

The business was founded by Sam and his co-founder, Sunny, and it remains in the hands of the founding family. Head cutter Mr. Vannachai, who has 30 years of experience, leads the cutting, and all production is done in the business's own workshop rather than sent out. In 2022 it moved to its current location on Sukhumvit Road.

Its tailors make bespoke suits, jackets, blazers, tuxedos, coats, trousers and chinos, along with shirts and wedding suits for grooms and groomsmen. Women can have suits, blazers, dresses and blouses made to order, and monogramming is available. The fabric selection ranges from fine Italian wool to linen, and every detail can be customized.

Every suit starts with a consultation and more than 30 measurements, from which an individual paper pattern is drafted and kept on file. Suits are cut and made by hand from that pattern, while shirts have hand-stitched collars, cuffs and buttonholes. Most suits are ready in about three days with one to three fittings, and a two-day express service is available.

A two-piece suit costs from about $355, a women's suit at about $350 and a shirt at about $75. The team offers free visits to clients' hotels, and orders can also be placed online once a pattern is on file. For a carefully made suit and shirts near Asok and Phrom Phong, it is a good choice.
