Tiefenbrun is a young New York firm doing full bespoke the traditional way. Yosel Tiefenbrun learned to cut at the Savile Row Academy and spent two years under Andrew Ramroop at Maurice Sedwell, then worked at Kevin Seah Bespoke in Singapore before opening in East Williamsburg in 2017. He measures and cuts every suit himself, and the firm says each piece is handmade in its own New York atelier. In 2025 he employed four tailors.
The construction is properly bespoke: up to 50 measurements, a paper pattern, a basted first fitting, a full floating canvas, hand-padded chest and lapels, and up to 80 hours of work. The cut is English: Robb Report describes roped shoulders, high armholes and a suppressed waist. He has also made the firm known among observant Jewish clients, using cotton rather than linen canvas so that suits are free of shatnez.
Prices are not published. GQ put an average full bespoke two-piece at $4,500 in 2019, and the Times of Israel gave the same figure as a starting price, with a semi-bespoke suit from $2,200. Expect those figures to have risen. In 2019 he quoted three to four months for a suit, with at least three fittings.
Choose Tiefenbrun for a handmade English suit at a price below the Savile Row firms on West 57th Street, and for the attention of a small workshop. It is younger than Leonard Logsdail and has less independent review than the established names, so look at finished work at the atelier before committing.
