A few other prices are worth knowing. Nordic Bespoke makes blazers from about $145 and women's dresses from about $145. Narry Bespoke Tailors makes women's suits from about $235 and waistcoats from about $75, and Unique Tailor makes women's suits from about $350. Rajawongse Clothier, family-run since 1961, sells silk ties and mother-of-pearl cufflinks at about $30 each.
Price also tracks what each tailor puts into the suit. Unique Tailor's shirts have hand-stitched collars, cuffs and buttonholes, and Jesse & Son hand-cuts its patterns and runs horsehair canvas to the lapels. Tailored By Luis, family-run since 2001 near Khao San Road, and King Fashion Uni in MBK Center are among the lowest starting prices on the list. What makes a Bangkok suit cost more?
Starting prices assume the tailor's entry fabric and standard details. Four things move a quote up from there: the fabric, the construction, the extras you add and the tailor itself.
| Factor | What changes | Effect on price |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | A standard blend, 100% wool, finer Italian and English wools, or cashmere blends and silk | The biggest single factor; top luxury fabrics can take a suit past $1,000 |
| Construction | Fused, half-canvas or full-canvas chest | More canvas means more hand work and a higher price |
| Extra pieces | A waistcoat or a second pair of trousers | A waistcoat adds about $60 to $100; trousers start from about $55 |
| Details | Premium buttons, linings and hand finishing | Each upgrade adds to the total |
| The tailor | Hand work, workshop size and how long the tailor has traded | Starting prices range from about $145 to $410 |
Fabric
Most Bangkok tailors carry a standard blended fabric alongside 100% wool, cashmere blends, linen and silk, with finer fabrics from Italy and England at the top. The same suit pattern can therefore cost very different amounts. Ask to see two or three levels side by side, with the price of each, before you decide. Our guides to polyester vs wool suits and Super numbers explain what the higher levels give you.
Highest price
Luxury fabrics
Cashmere blends, silk and the finest Italian and English wools; a suit can pass $1,000
Finer 100% wool
Higher-grade wools from European mills
100% wool
Breathes better than a blend in Bangkok's heat
Standard blended fabric
Where starting prices begin: about $200 for a two-piece suit
Lowest price
Construction
The chest of a jacket is either fused (bonded to an interlining), half-canvas or full-canvas. Galaxy Tailor, family-run since 1999, offers all three so clients can match the suit to their budget. Narry Bespoke Tailors specializes in full-canvas suits, and King Fashion Uni builds its bespoke suits with a full canvas. Our guide to fused vs canvas explains the difference you will feel.
Extras and details
A waistcoat turns a two-piece into a three-piece and adds about $60 to $100 at the tailors that publish both prices: a suit at Peninsula Bespoke Tailor goes from about $250 to $340, and at Tailored By Luis from about $160 to $220. A second pair of trousers, from about $55, helps a suit last longer, because trousers usually wear out before the jacket. Premium buttons, linings and hand finishing each add a little more, so ask the price of each before you choose.
Are suit packages in Bangkok good value?
Packages lower the price per garment if you want more than one piece. At Manchester Tailor BKK, one suit and one shirt cost about $145, two suits and three shirts about $320, and three suits and five shirts about $495; its ladies' package of two suits, two shirts and a dress costs about $470. At Nordic Bespoke, a suit, shirt and tie cost about $230, and two suits, three shirts and two ties about $495.
A package is good value when every piece is something you will wear. Ask which fabric each garment comes in, whether you can upgrade one piece without changing the rest, and whether the shirts are made to the same measurements and fittings as the suit.

Compare like with like. Bangkok tailors cut a pattern for each client and finish the suit in days, with one or two fittings. The older tailors of London and New York usually work over two to four months with three or more fittings, which adds hours of labor to the price. Labor costs less in Bangkok, too, so the same fabric makes up into a suit that costs far less. See our city comparison and bespoke suit prices by city for the full picture.
What to ask before you agree a price
Bangkok tailors quote in Thai baht. A clear, written quote makes the final bill match what you expected, and a good tailor will answer every question below without hesitation.
Before you pay a deposit
- Is the price for a two-piece or a three-piece suit?
- Which fabric is included at this price, and what does the next level cost?
- Is the jacket fused, half-canvas or full-canvas?
- How many fittings are included, and are later alterations included?
- In a package, which fabric does each piece come in?
- How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?
- Is hotel pickup or delivery included?
