The short answer
See a tailor on your first day in Bangkok, ideally within hours of landing. The first fitting follows a day later, a second fitting the day after if your stay allows, and most tailors finish a suit in two to four days. Aim to collect the day before you fly. Two days suits an express order; a week covers several garments.
- Order on day one: every extra day before your flight is time for another fitting.
- Two days covers one suit on a 24-hour order; three days fits the standard Bangkok rhythm.
- Five days to a week leaves room for several garments and two fittings.
- Bring a favorite suit, photos, and the shoes and shirt you will wear.
- Check Sunday hours: Rajawongse Clothier and Galaxy Tailor are closed on Sundays.

Most Bangkok tailors can make a suit in two to four days, and several can do it in one. The difference between a good suit and a great one is usually not the tailor's speed but your schedule: when you order, how many fittings fit before your flight, and whether you leave a little time at the end. The plans below work back from the day you fly, for stays of two days, three days, five days and a week. Day 1 is the day you land.
Planning a tailor visit at a glance
- First visit
- Day 1, about an hour
- First fitting
- About a day later
- Second fitting
- A day after the first, if needed
- Ready
- 2 to 4 days at most tailors; 24 hours at several
- Collection
- Ideally the day before your flight
- Bring
- A favorite suit, photos, your shoes and a dress shirt
- Book
- Before you fly, with your flight times
When should you visit a tailor in Bangkok?
Go on your first day. Every day between ordering and flying home is a day for a fitting or an adjustment, so a visit on day one gives you the most of both. If you land in the evening, you can often still go: Nordic Bespoke opens daily until 10pm, Manchester Tailor BKK daily until 11pm and Tailored By Luis until 11:30pm from Monday to Saturday.

What should you bring to a Bangkok tailor?
A few things in your suitcase make the first visit faster and the fit better. Pack them on top so they are easy to reach on day one.
Pack for your first visit
- A suit or jacket that fits you well, to show the fit you like.
- Photos of styles, lapels and colors you like, saved on your phone.
- The shoes you will wear with the suit, so the trouser length is set correctly.
- A dress shirt, so the sleeve length can be judged with a cuff showing.
- A short list of what the suit is for: work, a wedding, travel, a hot or cold climate.
- Your hotel address and your flight time.
Some tailors will copy a garment you love. Narry Bespoke Tailors can copy a favorite garment, and Manchester Tailor BKK can copy a garment or work from a photo. For what to say once you are there, see our questions to ask a tailor.
The 2-day plan: one suit on an express order
Two days is enough for one suit on a 24-hour order. On our list, Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, Nordic Bespoke and Manchester Tailor BKK offer 24-hour express, Nordic at no extra charge, and Tailored By Luis offers 24 to 48 hours. Choose a two-piece suit in a fabric already in stock.
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Day 1, morning | First visit: choose the style and an in-stock fabric, get measured, agree the fitting time |
| Day 1, evening | Fitting on the basted suit |
| Day 2, within 24 hours of ordering | Collect the finished suit, or have it delivered to your hotel |
| Day 2, evening | Pack the suit last and fly home |
Our guide to the 24-hour suit in Bangkok explains the express schedule in detail.
The 3-day plan: the standard Bangkok rhythm
Three days fits the way most Bangkok tailors like to work: order on the first day, fit on the second and collect on the third. Many tailors finish a suit in two to three days, including Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, Nordic Bespoke, Narry Bespoke Tailors and Manchester Tailor BKK.
Stage 1: First visit
Day 1
Choose the fabric and style, get measured, and agree the price, fittings and collection time in writing.
Stage 2: First fitting
Day 2, morning
Try on the partly made suit; the tailor marks changes to balance, length and shape.
Stage 3: Second look
Day 2, evening, if offered
Some tailors check the nearly finished suit again the same day.
Stage 4: Collection
Day 3, morning
A final try-on with your own shoes and shirt, then collection or hotel delivery.
Stage 5: Flight home
Day 3, evening
Leave the afternoon free in case anything needs a last touch.
The 5-day plan: a suit, shirts and two fittings
Five days is the most comfortable plan for a first Bangkok suit. You have time for two fittings, a few shirts or a second suit, and a spare day before the flight.
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | First visit: order the suit and shirts, choose fabrics and get measured |
| Day 2 | First fitting on the suit |
| Day 3 | Second fitting; try the shirts if the tailor fits them |
| Day 4 | Collect everything, try it all on once more and pack |
| Day 5 | A spare morning for any last adjustment; fly home |
The one-week plan: a wardrobe, without hurry
A week lets you order in two rounds. Order one suit on day one, check the fit at the first fitting, and only then add more pieces cut from the same pattern. Any change from the first suit carries into the rest.
| Day | What happens |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | First visit: order the main suit |
| Day 2 or 3 | First fitting; once you like the fit, order further suits, shirts or an overcoat |
| Day 4 | Second fitting on the first suit; first fitting on the new pieces |
| Day 5 or 6 | Collect everything and try it all on with your own shoes |
| Day 7 | A spare morning; fly home |
A week is also the plan for a tailor that works more slowly. Rajawongse Clothier, family-run since 1961, takes about a week for a suit, with two to three fittings, so order on your first day and confirm the collection date before you pay.
How do you book a Bangkok tailor before you arrive?
Six steps to book ahead
- 1
Shortlist two tailors
Compare starting prices, turnaround and location on the 10 best tailors in Bangkok, and favor a tailor near your hotel or one that collects you.
- 2
Send your dates
Message your arrival date and time, your flight home, your hotel and what you want made: one suit, a suit and shirts, or a small wardrobe.
- 3
Book the first visit
Fix a time on your first day and ask when the fittings will fall, so you can plan the rest of your trip around them.
- 4
Arrange pickup
If the tailor offers hotel pickup, book it at least a day ahead and give your hotel's full address.
Tip: Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, Nordic Bespoke, Narry Bespoke Tailors, Tailored By Luis and Manchester Tailor BKK all offer complimentary pickup.
- 5
Confirm the fabric for express
For a 24-hour order, ask the tailor to confirm a suitable fabric is in stock before you land.
- 6
Get the quote in writing
At the first visit, ask for the price, the fabric, the number of fittings and the collection date in writing before you pay a deposit.
Are Bangkok tailors open on Sundays?
Most are, often with shorter hours, but two of the tailors on our list close on Sundays. If a fitting would fall on a Sunday, check the hours below or move it to Saturday or Monday.

| Galaxy Tailor | 9:30am to 8:30pm | Closed |
| Manchester Tailor BKK | 9am to 11pm | 9am to 11pm |
| King Fashion Uni | 10am to 9pm | 10am to 9pm |
| Unique Tailor | 10am to 8pm | 11am to 6pm |
Hours as published by each tailor for 2026; confirm public holiday hours when you book.
Plan for the weather and traffic too. Bangkok is hot all year, most rain falls from May to October, and the roads are busiest at rush hour. The BTS Skytrain, the MRT or the tailor's own car is often the easiest way to keep a fitting on time. Our guide to where to find tailors in Bangkok shows the nearest stations.
Collection day and the flight home
Try everything on at collection, with the shoes and shirt you brought. Check that the fabric and lining match your order, sit down, raise your arms and look at the back in a mirror. Small changes can usually be made the same day, which is why collecting the day before your flight is worth planning for. If you would rather not go back, Galaxy Tailor and King Fashion Uni deliver free to your hotel.

Ask the tailor for a garment bag, pack the suit last and hang it the moment you arrive; our guide to packing a suit shows the best folds. If a piece is not ready in time, many Bangkok tailors can send it on by courier, and our guide to shipping a suit from Thailand explains how.

Questions people ask
How many days do I need to get a suit made in Bangkok?
Most Bangkok tailors need two to four days for a suit, with one or two fittings, so three to five days in the city is comfortable. Two days is enough for one suit on a 24-hour express order. A week leaves time for several garments.
Should I book a Bangkok tailor before I arrive?
Yes, it helps. Message the tailor with your arrival date, flight home, hotel and what you want made, so the first visit and fittings can be planned around your stay. For a 24-hour order, ask the tailor to confirm a suitable fabric is in stock.
What should I bring to my first tailor appointment in Bangkok?
Bring a suit or jacket that fits you well, photos of styles you like, the shoes you will wear with the new suit and a dress shirt. Know your hotel address and flight time, so the tailor can plan fittings and delivery.
Are Bangkok tailors open on Sundays?
Most Bangkok tailors on our list open on Sundays, often with shorter hours. Rajawongse Clothier and Galaxy Tailor are closed on Sundays, and Jesse & Son opens only from 11am to 1:30pm. Nordic Bespoke, Manchester Tailor BKK and King Fashion Uni keep the same hours every day.
What if my Bangkok suit is not ready before my flight?
Agree the collection date in writing when you order and plan to collect the day before you fly. If a piece is not finished in time, many Bangkok tailors can send it on by courier. Customs rules in your home country decide whether duty is due.
Can I have a fitting at my hotel in Bangkok?
Yes, at several tailors. King Fashion Uni offers free hotel fittings and delivery, and Unique Tailor makes free hotel visits. Many others, including Peninsula Bespoke Tailor and Nordic Bespoke, collect you from your hotel instead.
